頑張れ Samurai Blue! Nippon Ole!

Just one more day till the FIFA World Cup 2014 in Brasil starts and the cheering and hoping and trembling for your favorite team starts anew. Who will be the World Champion 2014?

As a german I would of course very much like to see the german national team win the World Cup, especially after the last World Cup 2010 in Germany when we just didn’t quite make the cut. But in my chest there are beating two hearts so for me the ideal opponent to win against in the finale would be Japan 😉

I’d love to see the Samurai Blue go forward into the finales and luckily Germany and Japan are not in the same group so until they meet they both have my undivided attention (so to speak). I hope to see a lot of the games, although this time it will not be quite as convenient as last time, due to the time difference to Brasil. At least work will not keep me from watching (^_^;)

So, let’s have a look at the Samurai Blue, the Japanese national team:

On the Japandream website you can have a look at each players picture and read about his dream and next to the players also the dreams of many others are displayed as well. A very nice website that gives the feeling of a more personal connection to the player than just seeing a picture and reading statistics.

In March it was announced that Pikachu will be the official mascot of the japanese national team for the World Cup 2014 and here you can see him sporting the official Samurai Blue uniform. Very cute (^_^)

And of course a post about the Samurai Blue wouldn’t be complete without the actual “Samurai Blue” Song by ZZ

I know I’ll be sitting at home shouting “Deutschland vor!” and “Nippon Ole!”, how about you? Do you plan to watch the World Cup?
